Day 2

Well today I was tired..I got home in the am and the Prince was sick..he is never sick!! I sent him back to bed and I got the trash can out to the curb! We missed it last week due to sleeping in the day after Thanksgiving. So I was out at the curb trying to smash all the trash down..I'm sure the neighbors were chuckling! I then hopped in bed for a few hours. When I got up the Prince was still not feeling any better..I got lunch for everyone watched Survivor with my sweetie and then it was time..time for the workout video!!! I put it off long enough! Well I did make it through..I'm still tired!! I wish I could feel that "high" that people talk about when they exercise. I will keep trying!!

30 Day Shred

Soo...for the last year I have struggled with my weight! I have decided to do something about it!! I started walking/hiking more with Braden on our greenways. I started writing everything that I ate down...Monday's are weigh in days. I tried to join the free weight watcher program that my employer sponsors but they said I don't "qualify". I was angry! I need help and they wouldn't let me join! Whatever!! I don't wanna be in their stinky club anyways!! Ok...back to my story! I was not getting any results jus cutting back on my caloric intake so I did something drastic!! I purchased The 30 Day Shred workout video!! So yesterday I began the torture!! I was so embarrassed I could not even do all the exercises the girls were doing!! The Prince was cheering me on...and then of course laughed at me later!! I felt good..today I strapped on my new pedometer and new kicks and walked a mile and then did the workout video!! Now I just need to keep it up so that I can reach my goal of loosing 10 lbs!! I will keep everyone posted!!!!

Sisters

I have three sisters...I am super close to two of my sisters. We talk everyday or at least text each other. They happen to live on the "other" coast. Every summer we get together and do something fun. Last year we explored the waterfront in San Francisco. We ended up down there on a whim. I insisted that I wanted to ride on the BART..silly, I know, but we had an awesome day. We had gelato to start off..then walked a long ways...had mini donuts..walked some more..had some italian food and champagne..walked some more and froze our rear ends off waiting over an hour for the cable car to give us a ride back up to the BART station!! I went back this year to try and replicate the fun day I had with the girls. This year I took the Prince..it just wasn't the same without the girls...It seemed lonely and by the end of the day I had the most killer headache. We had gelato again..that went over well...then we walked a while and had fish and chips..then walked some more and had mini donuts..then walked some more to the cable car stop..waited for well over an hour again this year. Don't get me wrong I so love spending time with the Prince but he was not into the waiting in line thing..when the girls were with me one of us stayed in line and the other two went to Starbucks and returned with after lunch lattes....the Prince just sat on the sidewalk and played his DS game...
This year we only had one day together. We got up and went to Starbucks to discuss the plans for the day. First off picking up a cheap pair of sunglasses for T. We could do anything we wanted (the Prince was already vacationing at Omi and Grandpa's)..go to the beach..go shopping..lay around the house and chit chat..drive two hours to visit grandma and surprise mom and dad...well, we of course chose to hop in the car and road trip it to mom and dad's!!!! We made a few stops along the way..first stop corner store for the mandatory diet pepsis all around..ok probably one of us had diet dr pepper...then it was off to a quiet little campground near the McKenzie river...our second family was camping out and we wanted to say a quick hello..they were not at their campsite but we did manage to leave a note and take use of the fabulous "pit" toilets...we then hopped back on the scenic roadway..next stop was a beautiful waterfall where we took our famous "self portrait" that we have started taking on our yearly adventures....it was beautiful but we had to jump right back on the road...We then came to a small resort town called Sisters,OR..I insisted that we stop at this cute little bakery for cheese sticks as I know the Prince LOVES Tillamook cheese that they are made with..I promised it would be a quick but well worth it stop...I did not disappoint...We picked up a few cheese sticks and jumped back on the road...we pulled into mom and dads place and knocked on the door, cheese sticks in hand...a very surprised mom came to greet us..we had of course let dad in on our impromptu visit...We greeted our "brother" Otto..my parent's spoiled doxie dog and munched on cheese stick while we planned the rest of the afternoon out...We then went up to grandma's new place to check it out and see how she was adjusting to her new living arrangements...she had recently moved into an assisted living place since she needs someone there all time and my parents were getting pulled in too many directions...that is a whole other post that may or may not ever be written...We visited and took pictures with grandma and then walked her down to dinner...I cried all the way back to mom and dads because some old biddy at the dinner table was rude to my grandma...It just broke my heart to hear that old lady being rude to grandma..
When we got back to the house and I stopped crying we decided to order our favorite appetizer sampler platter from the local brewery and of course I had to drag my sister to the grocery store to find my absolute favorite bottle of wine that I cannot get in NC because of the stupid liquor laws here...We ended up eating on the deck and enjoying the sunset!!!! One of my most favorite things to do!!! We finally decided it was time to hit the road and head back to K's house in Eugene...we had a two hour ride in front of us...plenty of time to hash out all of the days fabulous events...By far one of my very best days this year!!!!!!!
Thank you girls!!! Can't wait for next year!!!!!!

Back To Blogging

Weelll, as you can see I have been gone for quite awhile...Been busy..My Little Prince has grown up. Now he is almost as tall as I am and has bigger feet than me. It seems like yesterday I was all swollen up and pregnant with him. I have moved a few times since my last post..finally found a place that I love!!!!! I live with My Sweetie, My Little Prince and Phat Gurl. We stay busy with work and school and work and Boy Scouts and work..I have also started a new job since last writing...I just finished almost a year of training but now I am a 911 Dispatcher. I love my job. I hear some of the craziest things. I think the training was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. There were MANY times that I wanted to give up, but My Sweetie kept me going. He always knew what to say to bring me back to sanity and not quit. We had a tornado touch down in our town and WOW!! I was working that night and I had brought My Little Prince to work with me due to the tornado watch. Let's just say once I took that first call it jumped off!!! What do you say to someone who is telling you they see a tornado?? All I could do was ask where the tornado was and tell her to get to a safe place. It was a truly fun night. Our town was very lucky. While there was property damaged there were no lives lost!!! I am sure that I will have many more fabulous tales to tell about my job in the future. I also took on a second job from the beginning of March 2010 until tomorrow. Tomorrow is my last day and while I am excited about being able to have days off I am sad because I have made many friends with the people I work with at this second job. Oh, and I will miss the money. I did get to go to the West Coast for a few days this summer. I was able to see a childhood friend and see my youngest sister's new house. That was so much fun. My parents finally came to visit and that was great..took them on a hike and had lots of great food. My middle sister came for a visit and we got to have a little getaway to my favorite beach. We had a great time and I am still trying to get her to move out here and be my workout buddy as I now have twenty, yes twenty extra pounds to work off. Well now you are pretty much up to speed..
